Rebranding - Reset KC
This has been one of my favorite projects to work on. The idea is to rebrand a business of your choosing and create a new logo, a campaign idea to use in print ads, and design an interactive website.
Reset KC is a Kansas City-made high-end thrift store. Each piece is hand-picked by the owner so their customers can easily come to one place to find one-of-a-kind vintage streetwear. I wanted their rebranding to showcase the feel of the brand as it is local, retro, streetwear, and one-of-a-kind.
Step 1: Redesign Logo
I started off with a brain dump in a sketchbook. Narrowed the sketches from 30 logos to 3 that I liked. Once I put them into Adobe Illustrator, I roughly sketched them out. This helps me see what stands out to me. I had a hard time picking, because aesthetically I liked the top design, but for the logo to make sense for the feel of the brand, the third option was the best by far.
Step 2: Create Campaign Print Ads
I chose to use photography in my print ads. My big ideas was about how styling outfits is a form of art, and everyone who is into fashion, streetwear, or any type of clothing is an artist. I showed this by using a chunky gold ’80s frame to showcase a piece of clothing in the outfit that would be sold at the store. This was super fun to photograph and play with in Adobe Photoshop. I added the logo in the bottom right corner of the picture frames as a nod to art signatures. I love how they turned out!
